Mark Foster Medical Fund
Donation protected
On Sunday December 4th, 2016, our friend Mark experienced a stroke which left him without the use of the right side of his body and with difficulty speaking.
Mark spent the first few days in ICU and is now currently on the neuroscience floor of PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center attempting to get strong enough to move to a rehab facility. Mark is currently receiving rehab and occupational therapy to adapt and learn how to potentially live with the use of only 1 arm and leg.
As Mark learns to adjust to his new life, his wife and family are faced with the financial challenges of lost wages, medical bills, as well as the potential need for mobility devices, home therapy tools, and home modifications (wheelchair ramp, widened doorways, bathroom adjustments, etc.) Unfortunately, costs associated with strokes are among the highest out-of-pocket medical expenses in the nation.
It would be greatly appreciated if everyone could please keep Mark in your thoughts and prayers as his family continues to get through this extremely difficult time. Sadly, we’re unsure how long he will have to remain in the hospital or how long his recovery process will take. During this hard time we are reaching out to everyone who could help Mark going forward. All funds will be used exclusively for Mark's medical expenses and long term recovery. If any funds remain, the balance will be donated to the National Stroke Association @ www.stroke.org.
We will continue to provide updates as Mark proceeds with his recovery. Thank you all so much for your support - his family appreciates it from the bottom of their hearts!
