Little hands .. big LOVEFEST!

Tax deductible
Children Helping Children (CHC) originated from a community’s response to the death of a baby boy named Cole Clayton Hodgson. In 2008, on what would have been Cole’s first birthday, family and friends gathered together to celebrate and honor this amazing little spirit.

The children who attended decorated bear packs and filled them with toys. They lovingly attached their bear  packs to 100 teddy bears that were later delivered to our local children’s hospital. The adults present were immediately aware of the magic that was created out of love that day. And the children, who invested a lot of thought and time in the creation of their “Be Well Bear”, really understood that they were doing something important and a part of something much bigger than themselves.  Cole Clayton Hodgson’s monogram “CHC” remains a living part of our lives as CHC - Children Helping Children.

This is CHC’s 10th Anniversary!! For a full decade CHC has taught their "Compassion Curriculum" in the Atlanta area and has impacted over 20,000 children.  What makes us unique is the children are the ones who do the work and spread the LOVE!  Every year a junior board of directors between the ages of 12-16 is selected and spends all summer planning to host a free family festival at Piedmont Park.  Families who attend actively engage in assembling projects that benefit 12 nonprofits in Georgia who serve children.  Kids of all ages add unique art work and assemble projects that deliver much needed wish list items such as food, clothing, school supplies, art therapy materials, toys, books, and shoes.

100% of these funds will go toward hosting the festival to benefit not only the children receiving the in kind donations but by empowering the children who come to help put it all together.  Help us educate and support young philanthropist by giving them a platform to turn little acts into GRAND change... "Little hands... big LOVE!"

Remember a $1 donation will literally allow us to buy a box a crayons so involve your children in this process!  No donation is too small, but if you are unable to assist with monetary donations, we still want you in our village! Please come with special little ones in your life  and donate your time to this year's "Little Hands, Big LOVEFEST!" The larger our village, the larger our impact!

Little Hands, Big LOVEFEST held Sunday, October 21, 2 – 4 pm, is an annual family festival at Piedmont Park where children ages 3 and up can actively engage in assembling projects that benefit other children in Atlanta. Teens from CHC’s Junior Board of Directors have crafted compassion curriculum projects for 12 non-profits which allow festival goers a Big Love-filled afternoon of giving back coupled with learning more about service, compassion and celebrating diversity.  Traditional festival activities will also be offered including a jump house, face painting and cotton candy. Free Festival.  Space fee for parking at Park Tavern, 500 10th Street, NE, www.chcatlanta.org.
