Big, kick-ass e-mountain bike for Em's 50th b'day

To be completely up front - I am raising money for me. 

I would love to celebrate my 50th by leaping onto my very own electric mountain bike so I can zoom around the Tassie trails with  Simon, Ruby and our MTB friends.

It seems a little odd to ask you to contribute money as a gift - perhaps in the past I would have just let you know my favourite Tassie gin or wine or bookshop and cross my fingers.  

It has been a super strange year to try and save money for such a shiny, new adventure toy, particularly with the tourism sector in which I work being all but shut down.  So, if you feel inclined, please contribute, every little bit counts.

Please know that I would be just as happy with your company at my party or a nice quiet chat over a coffee as I would with a contribution to a mountain bike. 

If it all works out, I invite any of you who (fits a small bike and) would like to borrow this eMTB to go and play on the trails 'round Hobart.  I was surprised to discover how variable commercial ebike hire rates are - for the weekend it ranges from $139 (Hobart) to  $260 (regional Victoria) or an impressive $310 (Derby).
