Matthew's Carnegie Hall Trip

Our son Matthew has the opportunity to travel with the Taylor High School Orchestra from Katy, Texas to NYC in April 2018. They will be performing at Carnegie Hall!
This is a once in a lifetime experience for him as a THS student-they only take a big trip once every 3 years!
Matt is a talented cellist at the start of his 5th year in orchestra. He earned a spot in the top orchestra while at McMeans Jr. High and sat as first or second chair the whole year as a freshman in the Sinfonia orchestra. He earned a trophy for Outstanding Leadership for his group at the spring banquet.
Matt is now part of the Philharmonic Orchestra, which is the second best Taylor High School group. He is also part of the Taylor High School Symphony orchestra which combines the top two orchestras along with the woodwind instruments. This past December, Matthew also joined the St. Bartholomew Praise and Worship Band where he plays his cello at the Sunday 5pm mass. We are so very proud of his hard work and dedication!
These funds will go towards the travel expenses he needs to be able to participate in this trip to Carnegie Hall, where NY family and friends many of which for the first time, will be able to see him perform on this world famous stage!
In addition to a full Pre-AP courseload, auditioning for Region Orchestra, being part of the THS Track team, being an active member of the St.Bartholomew Youth Group and working on becoming an Eagle Scout, Matt has taken on a part time job to contribute to making this trip happen. Any amount will help him to defray the costs and we would all be so grateful for any donations received!
