Due to the Covid-19 outbreak, we will sadly not longer be able to deliver Beverley Puppet Festival in its usual live format.
Our plan B involves our previously programmed puppet companies creating video activities that you, our audience can engage with in your own home using simple materials. We will release 25 activities via our website and social media channels from May 18th - July 12th in 'Two Months of Free Puppetry Online' on the theme of 'Back to Nature'.
We feel this is the best way forward so that our usual audiences (and more!) will have stimulating, creative activities to participate in during this difficult time and so that our artists can still be paid.
After watching the activity videos in our programme, we are asking you, our audience, to consider donating to our GoFundMe page if you can.
Why we need to raise this money
As we have had to remove all ticket sales from our budget, we now have a deficit in our running costs. After we have covered these costs, all further donations will be split between four of our partners who have missed out the most from us not being able to deliver the live festival. These are: East Riding Theatre, Hitchcocks Restaurant, The Traditional Marquee Company and Chris Broadwell’s technical team.
Please help us keep the arts, artists and small businesses alive during these difficult times!
