Betty’s Leukemia Medicine Fund

My name is Betty Hayes and I was diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML) in 2007.I am asking for help to fund my medication expenses, specifically for Gleevec. A 30 day supply of Gleevec is approximately $12,000 per month now. I was only able to afford it with the help of Patient Services Incorporated (PSI), a non-profit 501(C)(3) premium and co-payment assistance foundation. However, legislative changes now prohibit PSI from providing more than $6,500 per family, per year. Gleevec has held my CML in remission since 2007 and the alternatives are not working. My prayers are that enough people hear my story so I can raise enough money to buy some Gleevec in 2019. I am hopeful that PSI will have won their court case and will once again assist with my full medicinal expenses.
