I have a sister-in-law whom I love dearly; her name is Bettiny Lee. She is a beautiful and vivacious young woman who is known by so many to be smart, unbelievably talented as an artist and musician, a hilarious comic and a great and caring friend.
Those who know Bettiny well also know that she is a heroine addict. Having made a series of unwise choices in her youth, Bettiny soon found her occasional use of minor and less harmful drugs spiraling into an full blown addiction to heroine that she realized she could not control and which became life-threatening.
I have watched her for the past 3 years really struggling in an effort to be free from her addiction. Although it has been a very hard journey for her with many ups and downs, she has not given up the struggle. Through this trial in her life, I have seen Bettiny gain not only wisdom and understanding, but most importantly faith in Jesus Christ -the One who is stronger than her and her addiction.
Bettiny has finally been given an opportunity to participate in a 8-10 month faith-based rehabilitation program called Through the Gate. When she first began looking for a rehab center, there were so many obstacles between her and the help that she needed, but thank God, He has removed every one! She was accepted and she moved in and began the program Tuesday January 30, 2018! Her application fees and move-in fees have already been covered. The cost for the rest of the program will be $400/mo for 5 months ($2000 total) or $275/mo for 8 months ($2200 total).
This is the best opportunity she has had thus far and she is excited and hopeful about the prospect of finally being able to take control of her addiction and grow into the person she was made to be. I believe that Bettiny is now ready mentally, emotionally and spiritually to take full advantage of this opportunity and I do not want money to be the last obstacle that keeps her from getting the help she needs. My husband and I will be paying as much as we can, but I want to extend the opportunity to her family, friends and anyone else who would like to use your money for a long-lasting and meaningful purpose.
