BETH'S STORY:
Hi, I’m Beth’s sister, Amy. Me, my family and Beth’s friends are hoping you will help this remarkable, young woman battle breast cancer (for the second time).
Beth, only 41, is as warm and kind as they come, with a smile and presence that light up a room, a wonderfully wicked sense of humor, and a genuine love and compassion for all people and animals. It’s been a very difficult few years for Beth, and we’ve been through a lot together; the sudden loss of our mother, coping with divorce, the loss of our father due to Alzheimer’s; and then exactly four years ago, Beth had to fight breast cancer. She thought the fight was over, but unfortunately, she recently learned that the breast cancer is back and it is Stage 2, triple negative (which is a very aggressive form of cancer that can be extremely difficult to treat). This type of cancer only responds to INTENSE chemotherapy, and starting immediately Beth will be undergoing chemo each week for the next 5 months.
HOW THE FUNDS WILL BE USED:
As many of you know, medical costs can be HUGE and there is so much that is simply not covered by health insurance. Beth will have to take a significant amount of time off work, thereby drastically reducing her income. The money raised will cover chemo treatments, radiation, biopsies, PETscan costs, MRI costs, doctor office visits, medications, a wig and the cost of subsequent surgery that Beth will need to save her life.
