Beth's DCIS Treatment Plan

Donation protected
After my dear friend told me about her healing journey, I felt compelled to start a fundraising campaign for her. In January of 2017 during a routine mammogram, Beth was diagnosed with DCIS, a stage 0 breast cancer.  Some medical professionals define this as a pre-cancer.  She has had two previous surgical interventions which lead to her having hysterectomy and a partial thyroidectomy.  This latest diagnosis has caused her to take a step back and understand the root causes of these events.  She, being a smart and persistent woman, is looking for answers that her traditional medical doctors do not yet have.  She continues to research treatment options to quickly learn that the over-treatment of DCIS is very controversial .  Through this research, she has connected with enough women and integrative doctors to believe that there are natural and “alternative” options available to treat DCIS.   The beauty is, she continues to find hope.
Over the past year, she has developed life-changing self-care practices. Even though her western doctors have not made such suggestions.  She is using this diagnosis as an opportunity to maintain healthy nutritional and lifestyle changes.  It is so inspiring to me.    Kaiser Permanente recommends that Beth has a quadrantectomy with radiation and 5-10 years of hormone therapy. The only other option they have provided is a full mastectomy.  Within the U.S. medical field, there has not been enough research to determine risk of DCIS becoming invasive, but some studies suggest the risk is very low (single digits low). Currently the standard care approach is to treat it as if it were an invasive, metastasized breast cancer and go after it aggressively.
When I hear Beth talk about the research and the doctor appointments, it is clear that she is trying to pave a new path which merges the western and eastern, the conventional and the alternative approaches.  Beth’s research and experiences have led her to work with a naturopath who is helping her identify and address the root causes of her system imbalances.  This treatment path includes a series of toxicity and hormonal tests to find out the causes of DNA damage, immune system failures as well as growth factors.  In addition to addressing these imbalances, she will continue a strict nutritional diet supported by supplements and embark on 4-8 weeks of high dose Vitamin C IV therapy.  Beth will be continuing to see her lymphatic therapist and acupuncturist.  These "alternative" treatments are not covered by insurance and the costs add up quickly.  She has already invested over $12,000 in her health this past year and your help is tremendously appreciated.
Beth’s new treatment path is currently underway.  We are hopeful that this whole body healing approach will be concluded by summer of 2018.
Ironically, today’s health care insurance pays for surgical interventions and medications that are much more expensive than “alternative” and preventative means.  I don’t want her exploration for herself and for future women to be hindered by funds.
Your donation will help support a healing path that will avoid surgery, treat the root imbalances of Beth’s system and help advocate important information for other women diagnosed with DCIS.  Through this last year, Beth has learned that there is a need to help women navigate the healthcare system when diagnosed with DCIS.  When faced with the word cancer with little information about nutritional or potential root causes, the likelihood that irregular cells will return is increased.  As an educator, she is dedicated to help support others with more informed treatment options.
Financial help is wholeheartedly appreciated.  Beth hopes to publish the information she is gaining for those interested in health and healing .  Beth has agreed to letting me start this fundraising campaign.  She will be posting updates and is happy to answer any questions.
