Bethel Presbyterian Church’s historical origins dates back to the late 19th Century when it started as a missional church. A calling it has maintained in this economically challenged neighborhood for over one hundred years. Our community heavily relies on the Church’s steadfast and trustworthy missionary outreach programs which includes providing:
• Food bags every week
• Cooked nutritional meals
• Senior boxes
• Clothing distribution
• Annual coat drives (seasonal)
• Senior & youth outreach
• Providing various informational workshops via other social services agencies; housing; mental health; and drug and alcohol treatment referrals.
On average our monthly mission program provides approximately three hundred bags of food and needed resources to the community. Over the last decade the building’s physical condition has surpassed our financial ability to maintain repairs. It is imperative we make these costly repairs which now threatens our ability to continue our surrounding missionary objectives in the community. We are asking all our fellow friends and family to help us with these problems. Our community heavily relies on the church, every week to provide them with essentials they are missing. Listed below are the major repairs our Church building needs:
• Roof repairs (multiple leaks)
• Pointing for building structure
• Wall repairs (due to water damage)
• Other repairs around the building that were caused by water damage
God has called us to serve others in need at this location. We are determined to maintain this long-standing missionary charge entrusted to us in this community. The foundation of our work is rooted from Matthew 25:35. “ For I was hungry, and you gave me food, I was thirsty, and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me.”
We the members at Bethel Presbyterian Church are commissioning ourselves with the financial challenge of raising 250,000 dollars. This funding will help to address the above structural problems we are currently facing. With the upmost faith in the generosity of our readers interested in supporting life-enhancing ministries . . . We thank you in advance for all your help and support. God Bless you.
