Tuesday the 13th I came home to find that my mom was debilitated she had a massive stroke it affected 75% of the left side of her brain. She was immediately rushed to the hospital where she had to have a life saving  craniectomy in which they removed part of her skull on the left side of her head which allows the brain to swell without causing any more damage. The part of the skull they removed is being preserved until it is ready to be replaced. The stroke left her with no movement on the right side of her body and she is now unable to speak. She currently has a tracheotomy to assist her in breathing and a feeding tube is the only way she can eat. The amount of therapy she will need to become the strong, loving, beautiful, vibrant woman we all know and love will have a long journey to recovery ahead. For those of you that know her know that her faithful spirit and her will to have survived this devastating stroke will not hold her back. 

Moving forward this accident has left her unable to work. She will require intense therapy due to her stroke in an inpatient facility followed by an extended stay in a  rehabilitation center where she will need round the clock care until she can come home.
