We are heartbroken to share that on Sunday, July 26th, John Bergquist, our beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and treasured friend, went to be his Lord Jesus.
While John, Kristine, and Natalie were driving home from a camping trip, they were hit head on by a driver who swerved into the wrong lane. John passed away instantly; Kristine and Natalie were taken to the hospital with injuries; August was at work at the time and so was thankfully not injured. Kristine is recovering from broken ribs, and Natalie from a broken femur. Both are physically okay and expected to make a full recovery, but expect ongoing medical expenses through the next several weeks.
John was a true man of God, advocate, mentor, storyteller, and an amazing family member and friend. He loved with his whole heart and had a deep passion for loving Christ and loving others. He made the world sweeter and brighter with his earnest, sincere spirit, his tender thoughtfulness, his fierce devotion to his family and friends, and the joy he shared easily and abundantly. He will be so deeply missed.
In this time of unspeakable grief, the Bergquist family needs support and care, both for ongoing medical expenses for Kristine and Natalie and for funeral expenses for John. In the midst of COVID-19, it’s currently not known how the family will publicly grieve this loss, but they expect to honor his life at some point in the future. Please consider helping them raise money so that is not a financial hardship when they are able to grieve with the many, many friends John sustained in his short -- yet full -- life.
We also invite everyone to lift up the family in prayer, that they may find comfort and strength, and know how loved they are through this time.
Thank you for being part of the Begquist community; your love and support during this time are deeply appreciated.
