If you have $1 or $5, or if you feel like skipping a coffee this month, that helps so much more than you know. Let's try to get a bunch of $1 donations to get the momentum rolling on here! It's easier & more affordable for ppl to do and helps the GoFundMe pick up steam ♥️ Even sharing this helps. Please do not feel obligated, I hate doing this when I know so many are struggling. Times are rough right now, I am violently uncomfortable asking strangers for money especially when I know most of us are tightening our budgets. I don't want you to donate if you have 0 dollars, nor do I want you to donate out of guilt. There is NO obligation, I promise!!! ♥️

Hello, I am asking for support for someone I love deeply who would do the same and has done the same for others.

My partner now has 2 deceased parents at the age of 31. His father suddenly died last week. he will be SO deeply missed. Having lost my own mom, I understand how painful and grim it is to lose a parent, and the fact that it is Suicide Awareness month makes it even worse. I really sincerely feel he is a person who deserves a community to rally around him in his darkest hour.

He is a genuinely good person who regularly volunteers his time at our local cat rescue, gives spare change to anyone who asks, and tips servers 25-30%. He has no paid time off left because he used it all to attend multiple funerals for my family and to drive me to visit my dying grandpa. He donated plasma twice a week for the past 5 years until Grifols suspended operations in Canada this past August, removing $500 of monthly income from our budget. While he will apply for the Canada Pension Plan (CPP) bereavement benefit, it takes up to 12 weeks to process and is not guaranteed, so it won't help us right now.

Due to the timing of Canadian Thanksgiving and Halloween weekend, we have no choice but to have the funeral on or around the day of our 4th anniversary. I am his sole support in our city.

GAS TO VISIT HIS BROTHER - $200

A 920 km round trip (accounting for idling and driving through 2 metropolitan areas along the way, which slows us down).

GAS FOR HIS DAD'S FUNERAL - $100

It is much closer, thankfully, but still adds up :(

URN FOR ASHES - Up to $500

Urns are expensive. He wants to look at alternative options to avoid that, but I generously budgeted for this because my mom's urn was $200-300 (which I was lucky to receive as a gift). It was much smaller than the size we need for these portions. I want him to be able to choose whichever urn brings him peace without worrying about the cost.

ANNIVERSARY NIGHT OUT/MEAL - $100

this is completely optionalWe have survived 4 years that would have broken many couples, and he has shaped me into a better version of myself while helping me rebuild my health. I wish I could spoil him the way he deserves, and I feel he genuinely deserves a peaceful, stress free night out together before.

Admin fees and any others are unknown but GoFundMe does take a cut so I rounded up to $1000. truly anything helps.
