Berber Lodge - Village Rebuilding Fund

Bonjour,

I am Romain Michel-Ménière, a Swiss living in Morocco since 2002, owner of Berber Lodge, a hotel at 23 km from Marrakech center, in Oumnas.

We are in the villages unfortunately near the center of the earthquake.

Our hotel has been damaged, but we are repairing it and this fund is not for us.

More importantly, our wonderful staff and neighbors who work with us and who are, as any of you who have stayed with us know are an extended family. All of them and their families are also safe.

For the families of our staff and the people in the nearby villages, who have been traumatised and had in some cases, everything they own, destroyed and mainly for everyone badly damaged.

We are therefore setting up a re-build fund so that local families can access the building materials needed to start over.

What i will do:

1) We are looking how much their house is damage and what a family needs to have one room clean, safe, a kitchen and a toilet.

2) We will buy only materials and we ll provide one macon and one worker for the time the work will need.

3) We will keep a comptability for each house and how much is spent

4) We will share picture of each house and as much as possible in our instagram account too, any details our fundraiser would need.

I am personally responsible of the money spent, and the one who will pay both materials and human helps (the workers themselves have damage).

We are conscious there are many other associations, and many ways to help, we would like to contribute where we are.
