About March 2020 this year Tammy went to many doctors and testing appointments to try to figure out why she was rapidly losing weight and not feeling good anymore.. July 2020 she couldn’t take feeling so awful anymore she went to the Emergency room and was admitted while in the hospital they had done a CT scan and found a 7 cm mass in her rectum, she was diagnosed with. Stage 3 rectal cancer that thankfully was confined to the area. When discharged from the hospital almost 3 weeks later she began chemo & radiation 5 days a week for 6 weeks and when complete we thought she would start feeling better but she turned for the worst... she was so weak, continuing to lose weight couldn’t eat or drink.. after a few days of care and trying to get anything in her she had taken a fall and it was then we realized her being home and unable to have the care she needed especially after finding a radiation burn that went from the top of her butt to the bottom that needed medical treatment she was transported via ambulance to the emergency room again. After 2 weeks admitted they discharged her to a rehab facility to get stronger again before coming home & going in for surgery for removal of the tumor. During all this Paul had taken a fall outside their home  and hit his head in June 2020 and he was seen in the emergency room where they did a MRI & CT scans there were no findings so he was sent home... fast forward to September when mom finished her treatments, dad had lost most use of his arms & legs but he still continued to try to work since mom was out of work and has been since covid started due to her health.  The weakness in Paul’s limbs caused him to have multiple falls daily and one of the times he fell on a blacktop driveways and since he couldn’t get his arms up in time to catch himself he face planted and fractured his jaw in 2 places. We had spent 17 hours in the emergency room to find he needs to have his jaw wired shut for healing and surgery on his neck to separate the disks on his spine to relieve the swelling and pinching on his nerves from the fall.  Once he followed up with a spine surgeon in our area and got surgery scheduled because he wanted to get his spine taken care of first he ended up with an infection in his jaw and had to cancel surgery. Paul had to follow up with a dentist, which thankfully our local dentist that was not seeing new patients took him on due to the circumstances but unfortunately he did X-rays and found the infection is around his wisdom tooth which is sitting sideways and he needs surgery to remove. Yes yet to be set up with a an oral surgeon to get it taken care of due to no local office taking his insurance for the procedure, which is also delaying the spine surgery to happen. Tammy is scheduled to have surgery December 18th to remove her entire rectum because unfortunately the cancer had damage too much of it to be repaired. It has been months since Paul & Tammy have been able to work due to health and the bills are just piling up. They have never been people that ask for help they always will work through what they need to provide for themselves but they have just reached a point they can no keep up. They know the world is struggling together at this time especially with holidays happening but every dollar is mush appreciated!!
