Help Benton Band Keep Marching

School marching bands and organizations that promote school spirit are the very fabric that creates sense of fellowship, not only for the students but for the community as a whole. The communities within the Benton Area School District have shown their support for the Benton band program through school board meetings, membership in the Boosters and supporting fund raising efforts. We are a community that believes in the importance of music programs.

We are a small rural school with our greatest resource being our students. Our district runs on a slim budget and there is little room for large purchases. We rely on community partners to help run our arts programs.

Our current 20-year-old band uniforms are rapidly becoming irreparable and certainly do not reflect the quality of the student in them.

At first the replacement cost of the uniforms, $35,000, seemed unattainable for a small program like ours. However, to date we have $13,000 raised, showing the commitment of our community to our band! We have raised this money by asking businesses, individuals and organizations to help with just a portion of the cost.  

There are many people out there who know the value music has in a student's life. You understand that music programs are more than the notes on a sheet. They are about leadership, discipline, time management and are also catalysts for higher learning. We are asking you to  help us keep marching and consider donating towards 10% of the purchase price ($3,500) of the uniforms in our fund-raising efforts.
