Major Life Update: We have stopped receiving child support (entering month two with a "SEEMINGLY SUDDEN" no desire to man-up and provide for his children); this was completely UNEXPECTED and OUT OF THE BLUE as he's never missed a payment to this day; this comes at a loss of $2500 a month.
Thankfully by the Grace of God, and wonderful landlords, I've been hanging on; and with my new job I'm able to cover about 1/2 of our expenses. My largest expense is housing. Just rent alone takes one of my two checks.
I have increased my fundraising goal to $9,725. That $6000 increase will be put towards rent for the next 6 months to ensure we have a roof over our heads. With your help, (I've also applied for section 8 housing assistance - on the waitlist) and my job I should be able to get us through the next few months while things are sorted through the court system.
If you know me...I am a penny pincher, and a DIYer. If there is a coupon, sale, or great value brand, I'll take it. Rent is relatively cheap as well (renting with the option to purchase - with renovation along the way).
Praise the Lord I received a Tax Refund just in time and was able to pay my late Feb rent and pay ahead for March; pay a few other bills, as well as take care of a few other household needs.
Any assistance would be helpful. Just as I think we are clear and rocking-and-rolling, things get a bit bumpy. One thing is for sure. No matter what I go through or how hard times can be, God is Still So Good, and Faithful, and deserves all my praise.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
My name is Misty Dupree. After 18 years of marriage, 9 high-risk pregnancies, 4 NICU Babies, 15 pregnancy related surgeries, 160 weeks if progesterone shots, 60+ days of hospital bed rest, and one infant loss, I have found myself alone. It was a choice I had to make. Probably the hardest of my life. I packed up the kids and left all they had ever known and moved 800 miles back to Arkansas to be near family to have the support I needed to begin again.
No matter how hard it is doing things alone as a single mom, with such a large family, one thing is for sure; doing it alone is far greater than trying to raise a family in a VERY toxic and unhealthy marriage.
If you know me, you probably know more of the story, but I’m not going to go into any other details here. I have no desire to to put anyone down, publicly bash, or call out my ex for anything WE did or didn’t do to end up where we are today.
I’m here to simply share with you, my closest friends, family, and those who don’t know us but are willing to help, what my current needs are. This is very much black and white/the honest truth. This past two years I have struggled so much.
BUT God!!!
He is had been SO SO FAITHFUL to provide and the end of the major bulk of struggle is oh so nearby. I can’t believe it’s almost here!!!
We are getting blessed with a BRAND NEW 5 bedroom and 3 bath Habitat for Humanity House!!!
After over a year of planning, serving, building & donating 100’s of hours in sweat equity the end is in sight. We are approaching the closing table.
As prepared as one can be for a move, there are still a few loose ends that I have to be tied up before I’m able to close & move in.
I don’t go down without a fight, have strong faith, and have had my big girl panties on for two years now working tirelessly day in and day to barley survive. I get little to now sleep and stay exhausted in nearly every area of my life.
This is what the last two years of life has looked like for me:
- [ ] Paid $36,000 in rent alone (that’s more than I get in child support in a year )
- [ ] Worked outside the home for as long as I could physically handle it (1.5 years)
- [ ] Totaled a Van & Bought a used one for $300
- [ ] Transported 8 kids to and from school, after school activities, football, soccer, boys & girls club, band & choir concerts, summer activities, & more.
- [ ] Applied and reapplied 2-3 times for Food Stamps and Medicaid (literally uploaded 77 documents this last time only to get a letter stating they needed 12 more)
- [ ] Starting writing 2 books
- [ ] Working on a movie
- [ ] Launched a new product for my business
- [ ] Got my license to sell Real Estate
- [ ] Sold a piece of land and one house
- [ ] Had a two surgeries (one major) + 8 weeks of recovery
- [ ] Paid $800 for extra electricity in new house for extra dishwasher, extra set of washer/dryer hookups and a kitchen island.
- [ ] Pre-Paid $2000 towards closing costs
- [ ] Put down $3500 towards said extra appliances (had to purchase my own 2nd dishwasher and both sets of washers & dryers)
- [ ] And more…the list could go on…
Moving forward…This is the minimum it will take to get to the closing table: $3171.07.
- [ ] Kitchen Island has to be paid for: (island is $1,571.06 and countertop is $612.00 for a total of $2,183.06)
- [ ] Remaining balance for extra appliances. $988.01.
As you know, there will be other needs as we get closer to move in day and immediately afterwards so any help is appreciated. Many have already helped so don’t feel obligated to help again unless you feel led.
God Bless,
Misty, Lizzy, Andrew, Jacob, Charlie, Cyndi, Maggie, Carter, Evelyn, & Baby Ellis too!
