Bennetts' Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy

Donation protected
Bennett Michael is our 4 year old miracle man! He was born with a chromosome deletion resulting in many medical issues. This deletion is not common and does not have a name, nor does it have much information on future outcomes. One of the main issues is Bennetts' pituitary gland, he only has one half and it is smaller than normal. This has resulted in Bennett requireing numerous medications and constant vigilance. He miraculously progressed beyond what doctors thought when he was born. Shortly after he turned two I went to get him out of bed one morning and he was minimally responsive, he had gone into hypoglycemic shock at some point in the middle of the night. We dont know for how long but it resulted in severe brain damage. Our angel was the happiest, smiliest, sweetest little man I've ever known! All who knew him (before) can attest to that! This traumatic experience has affected our family in so many ways and the medical community as well as numerous local, state, government agencies create constant obsticles for receiving equipment, services and care necessarry for him to thrive and make progress. I have researched the positive effects hyperbaric oxygen can have on the body for multiple conditions, including decreasing gray and white matter on the brain from lack of oxygen (hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy). This treatment is not approved by the FDA and therefore not covered by insurance. He is currently on four different seizure medications to control status epilepticus caused by the brain damage. When he came home from the hospital he did show improvement but the seizures have had a degenerative effect over the past two years. We have exhausted conventional approaches to care and are now on our list of less recognized methods of treatment hoping we might be able to see his smile again one day. There is a place 45 minutes south of us that does HBOT but requires a $500 deposit and the purchase/rental of a "hood".  https://sarasgarden.org/services/hyperbaric-oxygen-therapy/
We would like to try this method of treatment (supported by research) as long as it shows positive effects! Please check out the website provided above and if you have questions I would be glad to provide other research articles or answer any questions about Bennett and/or our family's experience! Treatments are $100 an hour and can be range from 60-90 minutes at a time. We will remain transparent in what is happening and how/when we are using any donations. If it turns out this not beneficial any donations received will only be used for Bennett and his needs/care.
I have been wrestling with starting this gofundme for many reasons but have decided to let go of my pride and beg for help for our little (getting big) man!!
Thank you so much!
