Help Benjamin Go To Washington, D.C.

Hi, my name is Benjamin and I am in 7th-grade in Central Iowa. I have been offered the opportunity of a lifetime - to join a group of my peers in a 4-day/3 night guided tour of our Nation's Capital, Washington D.C..
Not only will I be able to visit the seats of our federal government - the White House, the Capitol, and the Supreme Court - but I will also be able to tour the monuments and memorials, the Smithsonian museums, and the National Zoological Park!
Being able to make this trip would mean so much to me for TWO REASONS -
FIRST, I have a genuine interest in our Nation's history and how our government functions today. By going to our Capital, I can learn more than I could by simply reading books.
The SECOND reason I want to go is so that I can absorb everything that I would see and hear so that I can return and share it with my Dad.
My enthusiasm for American history and civics come from my Dad. His enthusiasm for those subjects rubbed-off on me. Seven years ago, my father suffered both a major heart attack and stroke. The event caused permanent damage leaving him unable to walk and, worse, dependent upon a ventilator and oxygen to breath.
Before my Dad's heart-attack and stroke, he loved to travel and had plans to visit Washington D.C. However, with his fragile physical condition, all traveling is now totally impossible for him. He really wants me to have this opportunity to make this trip to visit Washington D.C.
Due to his disability and lack of income, my Dad understands that the only way to finance the trip is to appeal to the generosity of others like yourself through GOFUNDME.
The trip will take place June 10th – 13th and the total cost of the 4-day/3 night trip is $2068.
According to the program, I MUST RAISE $1618 BY FEBRUARY 20th!
