On December 17, 2017 my family woke up to some tragic news . My grandfather Benjamin Soto was beaten and stabbed to death while sleeping outside the building on 1100 N. Ashland . Yes, my grandfather was homeless but it didn’t mean his life didn’t matter or that he didn’t have a family . My grandfather was homeless because he chose to be , he was happy being so. He has family that loves him and kept contact with him to make sure he had everything he needed. My grandfather was a great man that worked for every dime he had, never did I ever see him ask for anything to just be given to him. My family is planning to send his body back to Mexico so he can Rest In Peace. I ask of you to keep my grandfather in your prayers , any additional help would be greatly appreciated by my family . Thank you all for your love and support through these dark days.

Love you Granpa ,
Oscar
