God answered so many people's prayers, including mine, that lives would be saved from Hurricane Harvey. Prayers to those families and friends who lost loved ones in this tragedy. May God watch over them, and give them peace.
My name is Janis Volk, and I am creating this GoFundMe page for my aunt & uncle, Ann & Leo Benischek, and my cousin's family Bridget & Kevin Johnson and their children Lilyann & Gatlin.
Now comes the daunting task of cleaning up and rebuilding. So many people need help, including my Houston family. It is with a humble heart that I ask on behalf of the family for you to consider donating to help them rebuild their homes.
My cousin's home had over 4 feet of water, and will need to gut and rebuild the whole the first story. They also lost all 3 vehicles. They do have flood insurance, but it will be a process to receive funds, especially knowing the federal flood insurance program is currently in debt.
My aunt & uncle's home was "luckier" - they had about an inch or so on the main level. Their vehicles are ok, which is such a blessing. Like so many they do NOT have flood insurance. They are retired.

There are good organizations to donate to, and I will be making a donation to them, because everyone needs all the help that can be offered. If you choose to donate to our family we will be forever grateful. Donations collected will be used for materials and labor to rebuild both homes, as well as replace the vehicles lost. And fund that are not needed will be given to an agency that is helping others recovery from Hurricane Harvey.
