Ben Zink's Disney Baseball Journey

My name is Ben Zink, I’m 13 years old and I play for The Canes Baseball Club. I’ve been playing baseball since I was 4 years old. I’ve always dreamed of becoming a Major League Baseball player. To help offset the cost of my baseball fees and equipment, I’ve been growing a garden and selling vegetables. When I got the opportunity to play for the Canes I knew I was going to have to work very hard. I had a great first year with the Canes because of all my hard work and the help of all my coaches and teammates. When we played in a Game Day USA Tournament at Grand Park in Indianapolis, I was chosen by the opposing coach as a MVP.  With getting the MVP I was able to play in a Game Day USA All Star Weekend/Showcase in Columbus. From this I was selected to represent Game Day USA 14 year old age group in the Disney New Year’s Baseball Classic (December 27-January 1). I was chosen from over 3,000 players to participate in this event. This would mean so much to me if I was able to go because I have worked so hard this year to become a better athlete and a better baseball player. This trip would not only cost the $475 registration fee but also hotels, food, gas, etc. This summer I’ve been working in my garden to help fund my next years Canes fees but I was not prepared to get such a great opportunity. I am also willing to help fund this trip with my own money but we will still need lots of help to cover the remaining cost of the trip. It would mean the world to me if you could help my dream come true.
