Ben Ruetenik

Ben Ruetenik is a coach at Iron Tribe Gym in Coral Gables, Florida.  He is also a student at FIU studying physical therapy while working full time at the gym. 

On Sunday, May 7, 2017, at 6:00 pm, Ben was coming home from Key Biscayne.  As he could only afford a small scooter, that was his only mode of transportation.  He had just driven over the bridge on his way home.  A Black SUV traveling behind him began to blow his horn trying to make him move out of the left lane, but Ben had to stay in the left lane in order to make his turn to US1 South to go home.  The SUV then drove on the shoulder of the road, flipped a bird and then purposely swerved into Ben, knocking him off of his scooter.  The SUV ran from the scene and did not even stop to see if Ben needed help.

He fell off of the scooter was badly injured and as a result, his medical expenses are overwhelming and he is unable to pay for them.
