Words are hard, and self promoting is even harder. Because of this, I've procrastinated putting this page together until just now -- three months after receiving my Breast Cancer diagnosis.
To start with, a mammogram and ultrasound revealed a tumor in my right breast that was just a little over a centimeter in size, and a biopsy was scheduled quickly. By the time I had the surgery the cancer tumor nearly doubled in size, there were ten additional calcifications, and a cancerous lymph node in my armpit. Stage II Breast Cancer.
Now, I'm three treatments into Chemotherapy, with 4 1/2 months to go. After that, another month and a half of Radiation Therapy, healing time, then another surgery to make my breasts look a little more normal.
My first week back to Mercury Marine made me realize I cannot handle the workload I used to. Not now. Not for months to come.
I am not a fan of asking for help. Another reason why I put off this gofundme.com stuff. But here I am, doing everything I can to survive; seeking to aleviate the stress that comes with bills piling up, and hoping to be able to afford missing days of work when I need to.
Many thanks for hearing me out, and helping if you can!!
Love and respect,
~Bek
