Being Salmon, Being Human: 2018

The trailer you are about to see is the result of a ton of hard work, collaborations and the funding from a previous GoFundMe campaign of mine as well as other sources.
In August of 2018, with the support of GoFundMe donors and donated airmiles I was able to travel from North Carolina, USA to Vancouver Island, British Columbia. Once there, I began filming and traveling with a group of storytellers from Norway...who were on a tour called Being Salmon, Being Human. Their tour is based on Martin Lee Mueller’s book Being Salmon, Being Human. Their mission, performances and travels became the backbone of the story. The trailer you see above is what I created to show the distances that they traveled and to give the viewer a sense of place and breadth as to what will be in the upcoming series.
What is missing from this trailer is what I need your help with. During my 7 days there I also interviewed indigenous leaders, authors, activist bloggers, whale researchers, an MLA member and concerned locals-all connected in their dedication to saving wild salmon.
This isn’t just a local issue, this is the true story of survival for all of us...I need your help in bringing this story to the screen.
My goal is to have the time and space to now turn all the footage that I have into an online docuseries as well as podcasts that will be made FREE to the public.
The work that I’ll be doing is essentially the same as a producer who is creating a 5-7 episode story arc for something like Netflix, but I’ll be releasing it for free on different channels such as my own website https://www.salmonfolk.com/
I am seeking $15,000 to help me have the time and space to completely focus on this important work.
Honestly any funds received will help me immensely to create and release material as soon as I can over the next months to come.
