The 12 Days of Bedford Advent Calendar
This art project is a collaboration of the illustrations of local artist Sara Sayer and the stories of 12 Bedford residents. It was created to spread some Christmas magic and raise funds for St John’s Hospice in Moggerhanger.
During her daily walks, Sara was inspired to draw the decorated windows after seeing them flourish with creativity during the first lockdown period.

For the festive period, Sara Sayer is photographing windows and doors decorated for Christmas in Bedford and collating a story from each of the participants. She then draws each one in her whimsical style by expressing the resident’s precious memories. A title is added as a remembrance for this unprecedented Christmas in 2020.
Sara is sharing the artwork and stories on Instagram @_sarasayer every day from Saturday 12th December until Christmas eve so you can follow along with the stories. The money donated goes directly to our local St John’s Hospice.
