Becoming Liam!

Hey, my name is Liam. I am a trans man originally from Saaan Diago (a whales vagina...anchor man joke) I joined the USAF right out of high-school, which landed me in Texas. I served 4 years and was honorably discharged. I chose to leave because I was tired of hiding the fact that I was gay. I spent the following years enjoying what Texas had to offer and making life long friends. I also met the woman that I would later propose to and marry. I wish there was a happy ending but I still wasn't being true to myself. My marriage failed and I knew I had to dig deep. I asked myself the hard questions and I came up with the truth. I am trans and always have been.

Ever since I was a kid I felt like one of the boys. I would rather die than be forced to wear a dress. In, fact my 1st day of kindergarten started with me in a dress. My ma couldn't pry my fingers from the door frame, as she tried to pull me into the classroom. The teacher told my ma, " take her home, put her in some shorts and bring her back." I remember always "forgetting" my bathing suit just so I could wear a pair of boys trunks.

I'm currently 37 and was born in 1985. When I was growing up, being trans was not an option. It was hard enough telling my family I was gay at 18. I feel extremely fortunate that there is soo much more awareness about being trans at this point in my life. While I wish I could have transitioned when I was going through puberty I have learned to just be where I'm at.

I am 8 months on testosterone and ready to take the next step In my transition. I'm asking for help with my top surgery. Anything you can give will be Unbelievably appreciated. If you can't help please feel free to share my fundraiser. I'll get off my soap box now and just say THANK YOU!!!
