On November 17th, 2017 my Dad received a call while at work from Deputy Sherlock with words no one ever wants to hear.
"Allen, Im at your farm. There's a fire. You need to get our here."
Dad arrived shortly after and there was nothing left but the chimney.
Due to age of home and wood burning stove as the main heat source, Insurance was not affordable.
Operating his own tree service has been difficult the past few years due to health issues. This has impacted his financial situation.
My sister Kendra is a Junior in High School. She's worked hard on the weekends putting money away in her secret hiding spot in her bedroom saving for college in hopes to one day become a Veteranian. You can only imagine the loss and emptiness she felt when she came home from school to see her home gone.There were many years of memories in this home raising 9 children and recently 3 grandchildren. Although everything including family hairlooms, home videos, photos and all personal belongings have been lost, thankfully, no one was hurt. There have been genereous donations from the community, family and friends including the everyday essentials.
The money raised from this GoFundMe will assist in getting the family a place to call home.
Anyone who knows my dad knows he would never ask for help. The love he has for his family and farm, it would be wonderful to help him continue enjoying the place he has called home the lasts 23 years.
Any funds remaining will go to a college fund for my younger siblings.
