Beautiful friend, mom, wife w stage 4 cancer

Don protégé
Hi my name is Becca, and I’m fundraising for my beautiful friend Allix . 100% will go to her to support her cancer treatment.

Allix and I went to college together at WSU and we were sorority sisters in ADPI. I knew as soon as I met her that I wanted to be her friend. She has the biggest smile and the best laugh!! She brightens up a room as soon as she walks in the door.

She is the most amazing friend, wife, mother of two young children. She is an awesome school teacher and treats every child like her own.

Her diagnosis:

She was recently diagnosed with stage 4 cancer at the young age of 35 years old. The doctors were confused with her stomach pain and misdiagnosed her at first. It’s been shocking for her and all her friends family to know she’s at stage 4 already within a few months of doctor visits.
She is still working full time because she doesn’t want to lose her home or have any big changes that would affect her family.
The stress of this new finding is as a mother of 2 young kids is unimaginable.
She has started 2 chemos and it’s been the hardest thing she’s ever been through. The last thing I want her to stress about is medical bills, and any amount to help this family is greatly appreciated! And if nothing else, we ask for prayers!

From Allix:
“…The last month and a half has been an absolute whirlwind. Started with stomach pain, lots of scans and a diagnosis that no one wants to hear.
I am scared. I am angry. I am devastated. I am overwhelmed. I am sad. I am in pain. I’m fighting for my life.
I’m working as much as I can through chemo, which has been helpful keeping my mind on different things.
I am so grateful and thankful to everyone who has reached out to check in. I don’t respond quickly to text or phone calls only because I am so exhausted. I come home from a long day of work, put on the best smile I can for my girls, eat a little and go to bed. So if I have not responded it’s not because I don’t see it or hear it. So thank you all. I am surrounded by the best people, and feel all the support and prayers. My husband M is taking on so much. People ask all the time how they can help.I just want to make as many memories with my girls and family as I can. Everyday I pray I’ll be here for them and that’s my biggest fear. This week I completed my second chemo infusion. My first round was very rough. Had all the side effects. For this second round I was able to control my pain a little better. I also lost my hair this week. I share all this because I need and want all the positive thoughts and prayers out to the universe. Thank you so much.”
Well this update is not the exact one I was hoping for. However, we are moving in the right direction.

Update as of 2/26- “Tomorrow I get to have my surgery. Unfortunately, this will not fully get rid of the cancer. We will have another PET scan and testing on the tissue. This will help us with next steps. I may be looking at more chemo or another option I’m not fully versed on just yet. Tonight I ask for all your prayers and positive thoughts.”
