My friend Eugenia [Genie] Care's son, Beau, was severely injured on September 15th in an explosion in Australia (he was burned over 70% of his body) where he lives and works as an auto mechanic and has a family and 2 beautiful little girls. Being the incredible Mom and tender soul that she is, of course she dropped everything and flew to Australia to be by his side. He was in the ICU unit, intubated and in an medically induced coma when she arrived and stayed that way for a total of 13 days, during which time she was at the hospital from early morning until late in the evening, sometimes only getting to see him for 10 minutes twice a day. Due to the long intubation period, he also developed pneumonia.
Fortunately, Beau has made remarkable progress in his recovery and healing. The doctors call him their "Miracle Man" and are amazed at his progress. Both Genie and he attribute his remarkable healing process to the incredible care and treatment he has received at the RBWH and to the hundreds of prayers, and vast amounts of healing energy, Light and Love that have been sent his way. This has also supported her and her daughter and given them strength during this crisis.
Today, he is out of the ICU, breathing on his own, up and walking, and will not need any skin grafts as originally thought! However, he will need extensive rehab and won't be able to work for some time. So this campaign is also to help him and his family during this time of crisis.
Australia has a much more enlightened health care system than we do here in the US, so he won't leave the hospital in overwhelming debt. Hallelujah! But Genie's situation is a bit different... a same-day flight to Australia, and many months of housing expenses near the hospital isn't something many of us could handle, especially if one is a retired public school teacher living on a fixed income like my friend, Genie.
I offered to put up this campaign to assist Genie with her sudden expenses and to help her son and his family. She and her whole family would greatly appreciate any contribution you feel moved to make and thanks you in advance for your kindness. Prayers, love and light and healing energy are also very welcome. They have contributed so much toward his remarkable recovery.
