Bealtaine is an independent, Irish literary and arts magazine, with a keen focus on all things intersectional, inclusive, environmental and empowering.
Along with our launch of Issue 1 on April 16th, we are starting this GoFundMe campaign. Half of all proceeds donated to this campaign will go directly to MASI (@masi_movement_asylum_seekers), an amazing organisation dedicated to ending Direct Provision in Ireland. The other 50% we will use to put back into the zine, in order to deliver the very best with Bealtaine as time goes on.
We're setting an initial goal of €500, but as this is also for a great cause, we will not say no to more!
Our intention with Bealtaine has been to create a platform which celebrates arts and literature that is representative of modern Ireland, in a way that is accessible, fresh, and well-curated. We will not be charging a fee to read Issue 1, but we would hugely appreciate any voluntary donation or spare change that you may wish to give to help a great organisation, and to hopefully facilitate future issues of Bealtaine. It’s been a tough year; we know many of you will not be in the position to donate, and that is okay too! But if you do find yourself in the position of having some spare change, maybe skip that Saturday morning coffee next week and donate the €5 to a great movement!
If you decide to donate, you will also be in with a chance to win a €50 voucher from Vibes and Scribes (@vibesandscribes), a Cork-based independent book and crafts shop, with a beautiful selection of products to buy online for all our readers further afield. To make sure your entry is valid please remember to add your name and email address to you donation so that we can contact you if you win!
The magazine is being run on a voluntary basis, which means the editors do not have any monetary means by producing the zine. The 50% used to fund this project would make it easier for us to keep generating and delivering stunning content to you, our readers. We would be so grateful if you would consider donating a small amount to help us on our journey. A little goes a long way!
