This is Coop and he is almost 8. He is always hungry, he takes up way too much space in bed and likes to watch horses on TV. He has a large tumor on his spleen, and it is basically a ticking time bomb for catastrophic internal bleeding. Without a splenectomy he is terminal. He is in otherwise perfect health.

We have top notch facility that is able to do his splenectomy and provide critical aftercare. As soon as his deposit is paid he will be taken for surgery. Because the spleen is a very vascular organ, the risk of requiring transfusion is high, and so the cost of the surgery also includes several days of 24 hour monitoring in the hospital. Having already needed emergency care for his initial bleed and several diagnostic tests, we are coming up short at the finish line. With removal, has a very good chance of living out the rest of his life as a professional man of love and leisure.
