Be Strong For Kelly

Donation protected
Kelly is one of the most loving, caring and compassionate women I have ever met.  We first met while I was working in Child Protection, in her role as a foster mom Kelly has taken numerous children into her home, showing them unconditional love, whether they were in her care for 1 day or a life time.  Several children have found their permanent home, and their forever mom with Kelly.
I have had the privilege of getting to know Kelly on a different level over the last couple of years.  Kelly reached out to me when I was first diagnosed with breast cancer because as a fellow survivor she wanted me to hear that I was going to be okay, that I would make it through what was without a doubt the hardest time of my life.  In no time at all I found myself relying heavily on her for support, direction and inspiration.  She helped me find my hope when I had none, she helped me find my way back to the light in my darkest days. We have talked late into the night about our hopes, our fears, our children.  As I have gotten to know her one thing has resonated strongly with me,  even with  talking at times on a daily basis and rarely going longer than a week without at least touching base  I can not tell you which children she has adopted, and which children she has birthed herself.  She is the mother of 7 children, no matter how they came into her life, they are loved so purely and without distinction.
I am heart broken to say Kelly's cancer has come back.   Kelly now has stage 4 cancer, for which there is no cure.  She will be able to receive treatment. She once told me when you are a mother giving up is not an option you fight for every day, every hour, every minute you can have with your children.
Kelly is a force to be reckoned with,  she is love personified.  Always willing to help out, to open her heart and her home to everyone who enters her life.
There are a number of people in the community who want to help, and want to show Kelly and her family how much they all mean to us.  I honestly don't know a better way then ensuring they all have an amazing Christmas.
A fund raiser is being held on December 1 at at Rush Fitness.  Classes will start at 12 noon.  The number of classes will be dependant on the number of people who register.  Classes are $20 a person, and 100% will go to family.  All fitness levels are welcome, even if you have never worked out in your life, please come solely because you have a body and have the strength to do it.   Come and be strong for Kelly.  To register please email [email redacted].  If you can't come  we'll happily take your cash and make sure that it gets to the right place
