1 year ago I adopted this monster, Panda, after her previous owner, a friend of mine, passed away.
Panda came to me as a 3 year old border collie pit mix with separation anxiety and not much training. I came to Panda as a first time dog owner who knows precious little about dogs and was not financially prepared for this spur of the moment undertaking.
While I have been able to teach Panda some things, I haven't been able to teach her most things. And separation anxiety from me makes it really difficult for me to be the one who teaches her anything.
Panda has eaten a couch, she has destroyed a door, she has hurt my back and shoulder more than once, and spends a lot of her day in a panic. I've been fortunate that I have a cool landlord and roommate, but we need to do something about Panda-monium, a better name for her. I have consulted with multiple dog trainers over the past few weeks who have all told me the same thing, Panda needs to go to dog charm school. She needs to go to a board and train program to help defeat separation anxiety, teach her boundaries and limits, and also teach her owner (that's me) how to speak dog fluently.
I've really struggled with asking about this, but the truth is poor Panda is pretty miserable because she is so anxious and I'm sure her GI Tract hurts from all the strange items she has been stress eating. Rehoming her isn't an option because I committed to taking her and frankly no one else would put up with the amount of damage she does. So here I am, asking, if you're able, would you please help me send Panda to dog charm school so she can be the best dog she can possibly be? And also so she stops destroying my home and costing me money :(
