Chrissy Lomax is a singer/songwriter and has also been a crusader in finding a cure for Cancer for over 25 years. In the 1990’s Chrissy published a cookbook through the UCLA Jonsson Cancer Center Foundation. The cookbook raised seed grant money for research in memory of her mother Mary who lost her battle with colon Cancer at the age of 41.
Chrissy was a marathon coach for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Team In Training for 7 years. She not only prepared others for a finish line but also organized and conducted many fundraisers including silent auctions, golf tournaments and benefit concerts for Cancer research. Sadly along the way Chrissy has lost many friends and loved ones from Cancer and now she has now been diagnosed with stage 2 Breast Cancer discovered from her annual mammogram.
Chrissy has been a fitness professional in the Thousand Oaks area and beyond, coaching her own marathon team called “Team Believe” getting people of all ages, shapes, and abilities to finish lines. Chrissy is a senior fitness specialist, certified Pilates instructor and personal trainer teaching at DAILY BREATH PILATES, Lake Sherwood Country Club, The Conejo Valley Adult Ed School and in clients homes.
Now is the time for Chrissy to BELIEVE in herself to get through the treatment over the next year. Who knew that the seed grant money she raised for UCLA in the 90’s was funding a drug called Herceptin that is now a part of her chemotherapy treatment. Please help DAILY BREATH PILATES raise funds to help Chrissy with her medical bills as she endures a new kind of marathon for her life!
