BCCB's Flood Relief for Bangladesh

BCCB Flood Relief Effort 2017:

Aim: To raise funds to support the affected poor people of Bangladesh that are victims of the recent flooding that is occurring

***
Nearly 250 people have died in the last few days as a result of flooding and landslides that have devastated parts of northern India, Nepal and Bangladesh.

Millions of people have been displaced across the region, and 245 people are recorded to have been killed by collapsed buildings or by drowning.

A third of Bangladesh is flooded after monsoon rains swept through the densely populated riverine country.

At least 27 people have died and a further 600,000 have been marooned across the low-lying delta region, according to Bangladesh’s disaster management minister, Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury.

Many of you on our humble online platform BCCB have indicated that you wish to donate and provide whatever assistance (no amount is too small), to help those are so desperately in need of it.  As a result of that, we've set this page up to help facilitate the donation collection so we can send this money to Bangladesh as soon as possible through our BCCB Bangladesh Chapter and other partner organizations that are trying to achieve the same aim.  Our goal is to ensure that 100% of your donation amount will be sent to the affected people.   Please note, that any administrative cost will be absorbed by BCCB's own funding.

Next Steps?
In parallel, as we collectively raise funds, we are working with the Bangladesh Chapter of BCF to identify a credible charity organization that can help with the monetary distribution in Bangladesh to ensure the funding goes where it is required.  Once this charity has been properly vetted and identified, we will withdraw the donations that you have so generously provided and hand it over to the charity.  As one of our priorities for this initiative is transparency, we will strive to continuously update this page as we progress.
