Tornado Relief

Hello. My name is Holley Sharp. Many of you have reached out to see how you can help with this horrible disaster that has hit our small community. We are focusing on three families right now that were directly affected by the tornado on December 10th. These families are very near and dear to our hearts and have practically lost everything.

The first family is Allen and Jenny Shemwell. Allen is the brother of a very best friend of ours. Not only did they lose their home and everything in it, their cars, but they lost Jenny's mother and her children's Nana. She was found about a mile and a half from their home in a field deceased. So right now losing their home is not their first priority but planning a funeral and paying for funeral expenses needs to come first. Our hearts are shattered for this family and their three small children. It could take months before insurance claims are finalized and they are able to start to rebuild their life. This money will be used for temporary housing for them, replacing everyday items that are needed now, clothes for the children and also hopefully help give these children a great Christmas after the great tragedy they have experienced.

The second family is Shannon and Valerie Smith. Valerie has been my best friend for 30 years now and she is one of the most genuine precious souls you will ever meet! They live a very simple life and are both extremely hard workers and would give their shirt off their back for anybody. For example, the tornado came through on Friday night and Monday morning after losing her home she was at her job at our local public school to help feed other families that had lost everything. It didn't matter that she had lost the home she had lived in for 24 years, she put that aside and made sure everyone else had what they needed first! It just goes to show you what kind of person she is! ❤️ They recently found out a few weeks ago that their just turned seven year old son has now been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. It has not been an easy road and he has been struggling with his health. Of course when the tornado hit her first initial priority was making sure she could get insulin for her son. They have 2 sons and they are fortunate enough to have family that they can stay with until the rebuilding starts. They have been able to salvage a few items but they will be in need of clothing and other daily essential items that we would love to be able to help them with. They too are waiting on insurance to look at the damage before they can start cleaning up and rebuilding.

The third family is Rick and Rachel Reed. They have three small children and lost their home in the tornado in our neighboring town of Mayfield Kentucky. Both Rick and Rachel work in the medical field and of course have been working around the clock to help save other people's lives and people that were injured during this horrific storm. Fortunately they were all able to walk away with no injuries but they lost their home in everything inside it. We would love to be able to help them with temporary housing, replacing any contents that are needed now, or any needs that their three small children may have.

Matt and I wanted to make something available to help the people we know personally directly affected by this. We appreciate any help that you could give to these families and we promise that every dime will go directly to their immediate needs! May God Bless You! ♥️
