Help: Hurricane Harvey

HELP: HURRICANE HARVEY RELIEF FUND!

We are all aware by now Texas has been hit by Hurricane Harvey. Making landfall at a whopping category 4, this was the largest hurricane to hit the area since the 60s. Flooding, tornados, 130+ MPH winds and catostrophic amounts of rain have turned Port Aransas, Rockport, Corpus, Houston and SO many places into salvage yards and left SO many families without a place to call home.

The devistation that Hurricane Harvey has brought with it is heart breaking but even more so when it effects those you know and love. So first I want to say, thanks for taking the time to visit and read and, if able, help this family in their time of great need.

My name is Ashley Smith, I live in Corsicana, Tx. My classmate and long time close friend of my boyfriend and I, Tyler Wells, family have called Rockport, Tx home for quite some time. Above is a picture of the damage of their home they are to return to this weekend thanks to Harvey. A large chunk of their roof gone, extensive damage to exterior walls, massive amounts of debris and obviously, internal damage due to catostrophic rains. 

Kristian, Ben and the kids (Gaven, 18; Kaipo, 16; Kelly, 11; Ikaika, 14- almost 15) and their fur babies have taken a huge loss not only with their home but school clothes, bedding, shoes and school supplies. Gone.  Ikaika, 14, is diagnosed with aspergers, bipolar disorder, ADHD, schizophrenia and anxiety/ depression. It goes without saying, like the rest of the family, he is feeling displaced, nervous, and scared about where they are going to live and having to switch schools.


Due to the state of their home and lack of funds to rebuild/ fix the damages the family plans to relocate at the end of September after salvaging what they can from their home. The funds raised here will help to purchase: Gas and supplies during travel, dog food, laundry detergent to clean their mildewing clothes and bedding, cleaning supplies, totes and boxes, clothes/ shoes, groceries, school supplies,  assist with relocation, necessities, and any repair they are able to/ required to do, etc.  And will  be sent directly to the family. Kristian and her family also have a heart to assist others in the same situation and supply volunteers with drinking water.  (If you are unable to help financially but feel led to lend a helping hand elsewhere feel free shoot me a message- My boyfriend, Christian, and I plan on doing all we can to help.)

In times like these the only place you have left to turn is family, friends and strangers and I do hope you can find it in your heart to reach out and help this family in some way. I want to personally thank you on behalf of the family ahead of time for your generosity and kindness.
