Werner Scheffler, Brain Tumor Survivor
Donation protected
Werner Scheffler is my brother in law. In the summer of 2011 he was your typical 36 year old man. He has three boys, ages 6,8, and 10. He loves to barbeque. He is a hard worker and provides a comfortable life for his family. He loves Cleveland sports teams, so he believes in impossible causes.
But in the fall of 2011, Werner was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor. After the intial shock of this wore off, Werner made the decision to fight for his life. He developed deficits in his motor function and balance and it was not very long until he was unable to work any longer. After steadily declining for nearly three years, his neurosugeon finally said "lets remove this tumor". On June 13, 2014 Werner's tumor was sucessfully removed! Unfortunately, he has developed a serious brain infection since the surgery and is currently hospitalized and once again, fighting for survival.
This family has endured stress, financial, emotional and for Werner physical stress that most people would find impossible to comprehend. The outpouring of generosity towards this family has been deeply appreciated and a tremendous help. My sister, right now, is not even thinking about the financial aspect of her life. She is only concerned with being with her husband and helping him to recover and spending the little time when she can leave the hospital with her children whom she misses as much as they miss her.
I am asking that you reach into your heart and subsequently your wallet and spare any amount of money to help this family. No amount is too small. (Even 10 dollars pays for parking at the hospital while my sister is with Werner) Please consider giving what you can to help this young family when they need it the most.
