Hello! My name is Patricia Foster-Grado and I am the Director of Bay Ridge Ballet, a dance school providing quality dance education to students throughout Brooklyn. I am writing to you today on behalf of those students...

Like many of you, covid has hit us hard, but we have persevered. Following all mandates, BRB continued our mission to give the very best in dance education and provided a safe haven for our students in challenging times. We are fully back now, growing and thriving, but need support due to theater restrictions. Sadly, we have not been able to perform for our community in a theater since 2019! We would like to change that and need your help!

We are currently working to raise money for our very own community performance space in our new studio at 110 Bay Ridge Avenue, which will house our upcoming 2021 Nutcracker performances!

Having a small performance venue would allow our students to perform for people in our community, to receive pre-professional performance experience, and set goals that work towards accomplishing their dream of becoming a professional dancer. Through this learning process, our students are personally mentored by our instructors providing a much needed resource that instills valuable life skills that far outreach just dance.

As a retired dancer, I know first hand how a child's life can be changed with dedication to the art and learning from the right teachers. I would like to make this performance opportunity available to our students and nurture their love of dance, while also giving safe, special performances to our community.

I’m writing to ask you to please support our cause! Your donation will go towards the creation of the new Studio B Performance Space, an intimate live-performance space that will house small scale dance performances for our Bay Ridge community. Our new performance space needs lighting and stage curtains. These items come at a big expense, so we ask for your help if you are able.
