Help Sharlene in Her Fight Against Cancer

Donation protected
Sharlene Wyatte, loving mother, sister, aunt and fighter of cervical cancer

As mothers, we have each stroked the faces of our sleeping children and dreamed of the lives they have ahead. We imagine ourselves waving them off on their first dates, wishing them luck on their first days of Uni, dancing with them on their wedding days. We ask ourselves "what will my child be when they grow up?" but we never dare imagine we may not live to find out.
This is the reality Sharlene, and the hundreds of women dying/fighting cervical cancer each year, must face every single day

Cancer Australia estimates that over 500 women will receive a cervical cancer diagnosis. That's over 500 beloved daughters, sisters, mothers and wives who will face PET scans and oncologists, who will undergo stress and anxiety, who will hear the words "you have cancer".

2 years ago after losing her full time job due to undergoing a sub-total hysterectomy. Sharlene and Paul decided to start a small cleaning business so Sharlene would be able to help support their family financially.  They had finally got the business to a point where this was a reality. Unfortunately life for Sharlene had other ideas though.

In September 2018, Sharlene went to her GP for some abnormal pains and was advised to undergo a pap smear. Results were not what they were expecting ... abnormal cells found

By early December, Sharlene was admitted to hospital to undergo surgery, LEETZ procedure.
While waiting for the results on this surgery, Sharlene underwent numerous other tests to check for other issues.
Shortly after Christmas, Sharlene and Paul were given the bad news... "Sharlene, you have cancer"

By mid-February, Sharlene was scheduled to undergo further surgery to remove her cervix and hopefully any other cancer cells.
Not only was recovering from surgery, and the shock of being told she had cancer, Paul was also made redundant from his full time job 1 week before.

2 long weeks after surgery we recieved more bad news.
The cancer had metastasized into the nearby Lymph Nodes.

So now Sharlene and her Family are at stage where Chemotherapy and radiation treatment are required.
Yes, Chemotherapy is available through the public health system, but unfortunately in Toowoomba, the only radiation bunker close to their home is located in a private hospital therefore meaning the radiation treatment will not be covered by the health system.

Sharlene's hopes to be able work and to finacially help her family have been shattered so to help cover the cost of her ongoing treatment and to deal with the onslaught of day-to-day expenses, Sharlene has set up this GoFundMe page. Any donation, no matter how small, will help ease the burden on Sharlene's loving family.
