Barrhaven Fire Victim Relief

At around 2 am on Tuesday, March 31 a fire destroyed 8 condo units in Barrhaven and damaged several others. Unfortunately, the fire claimed the lives of two people, a 70 year old mother and her son, and injured another. Numerous people have been displaced and have lost many irreplaceable items, as well as clothing, furniture, food and other necessary items. 

The funds received will be used to help pay for:
- funeral expenses
- temporary housing
- clothing
- food
- replacing household items (furniture, appliances, housewares)

I'm still in the process of determining what each family needs at the moment. I'll have a better idea of what expenses need to be covered soon.
All money donated will be divided amongst the displaced residents.

I know times are hard for everyone right now, with a lot of people not working due to Covid-19, but this has been a reminder to me that things can always be worse, these people have lost almost everything.   Anything you are able to donate would be greatly appreciated, every small bit helps.

Some things that could be useful right now are:

Blankets/bedding
Toiletries (soap, deodorant, toothbrush, toothpaste, feminine products)
Used cell phones
Socks
New underwear
Jackets
Outwear (hats, mitts)
Shoes (sizes unknown ATM)
Pet food
Non-perishable food
Clothing (sizes currently unknown)

Furniture and housewares will be good further down the line once people get settled, but  I may be able to store some items if people need to get rid of them.
