Matt Barnes-Home Fire & Total Loss
On Sunday, December 18, while Matt Barnes, his wife Kailiana and her grandparents were at church, a house fire consumed both homes, tragically destroying everything they owned. In joint effort, the Northwest Rogers County Fire Department, Collinsville City Fire Department, Collinsville Rural Fire Department and Owens & Co. Fire Department valiantly fought the extreme frigid temperatures and frozen water hydrants and hoses to extinguish the fire. Water had to be trucked in but unfortunately, it was too late to save either home and personal possessions.
Thankfully, no one was injured in the fire, however, the fire fighters had to rescue the family cat and administer oxygen. The Red Cross was the first to contribute to the family by providing blankets, simple toiletries and a debit card for a few nights stay at a hotel.
During this holiday season of family gatherings and giving, please open your hearts to Matt, Kailaina and her grandparents to help this family recover and begin a new year with hope, from your love, prayers and financial support.
