For the past seven years, Northfield Township has been in construction phases of the Non-motorized Pathway on Barker Road.  Phase 1 and Phase 2 were completed leaving Phase 3 as the last part of the project.  About four year ago, it was discovered that 4 easements still needed to be purchased to complete the project.

Two of the four homeowners agreed on the sale of the easements, leaving the other two homeowners holding up the completion of the project by continuing to ask for more money on the project.  The Northfield Township board felt that the community was now held hostage to complete the non-motorized pathway - the board gave the homeowners a date to agree on an offer without a response.

As a member of Northfield Township, enough is enough. Our children deserve a safe pathway to travel on.  I proposed to the Northfield Township tonight that if I can raise $6500 to complete the sale of the easements, will they approve the sale of the easements - The vote passed.
