Antigua & Barbuda Dog Rescue

UPDATE: : Since we, as well as other groups, were not allowed to feed the starving animals on Barbuda, Karen, Julia, Abbie and I decided to make our mission about ALL the dogs and cats that  are starving, in urgent need of medical attention and alone - those in Antigua and hopefull one day, those in Barbuda.  It is a long term mission and we are ready to get to work !!

Thank you everyone,  Your support means so much to us, and is making a change for some very lucky dogs in Antigua.  Dogs that without the dedication from all the wonderful animal organizations and especially the fantastic team of Dogs and Cats of Antigua, would be left to die on the streets.

Sincerely and Gratefully,  Sharon

We will be making several trips, so we have raised our goal.  Please, reach deep into your hearts to support us and all the animals that now have no owners, no homes, no voice.

As you all know Barbuda has been devestated.  95 percent of the population has been evacuated to their sister island Antigua since their homes and business's are no longer inhabitable.    Sadly, and of no fault to pet owners, the animals, all of them, had to be left behind to fend for themselves.  Dogs, cats, horses, goats, pigs etc., have no food, no water, no one to be their voice and protect them.

Myself and co-worker Karen, as well as a small handful of others from across New England and other states, are traveling to this now uninhabiable  island to try and help those animals in deepest need.  We will be helping to move the dogs out of the Antigua shelters and into new furever homes here, so some of the dogs from Barbuda, with the permission of their Humane Society can be brought to Antigua and reuinted with their owners.

We are in desperate need of money for travel, pet food that we will fly over with us (as their are no pet stores left)  medications,  medical  supplies, fresh water.

Please, give what you can.  Every  dollar donated gets a broken hearted dog or cat the medical attention needed, food and water and hopefully back with their waiting owners, or into a new furever home.

Antigua/Barbuda holds a special place in my heart and is one of my favorite islands.  The people are hard working, extremely friendly and just lovely.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart.  Sharon Gerson
