Barbara’s Courageous Battle

Loved fiercely by her numerous family and friends, Barbara is ready to fight Breast Cancer with everything she's got. Unknown by many until now, Mommy was diagnosed with HR+, HER2 Metastatic Breast Cancer in May of 2017. She has been fighting bravely all along.


As many of my friends know my beloved home of Virgin Gorda in the BVI was devastated by Hurricane Irma on September 6th. By grace and favor we have our lives while much else is a total loss.


While visiting other family members in the states over the Thanksgiving Holiday, Barbara had a significant health set back. She experienced  difficulty breathing due to a collapsed lung because of complications she was unaware of. As a result she has been in the hospital and will now require rehabilitation to gain her ability to walk and continue cancer treatments.


The mounting medical costs for entry into a rehabilitation center and cancer treatments is overwhelming. Medical insurance is unwilling to help pay any of the cost associated with treatment because she is outside the BVI. She is receiving care from  the Dana-Farber/ Brigham and Women’s Cancer Center in Boston which is nationally ranked. We are dedicated to keeping Barbara in a place where she can receive the best treatment possible.


With this, her family is asking for help and support from our friends and extended communities.
