Support for Sameer's Family

On the 5th of October, we lost a very beautiful soul in a tragic accident. Sameer Krishna Manandhar, at 22 years old, was involved in a vehicle accident in Noonamah, NT doing what he loved, riding his motorcycle.

 

 

 

 

 

Sameer was born Feb 28, 1999 to his parents Bhoj Krishna Manandhar and Sakun Manandhar in Nepal. His loving parents took out a loan for Sameer to move to Australia at the age of 18 to follow his dream of studying cookery. He lived in Melbourne while he studied, during which time he won ‘Next Top Chef’ for his incredible talent as a chef.

 

 

 

 

Sameer made the move to Darwin in December of 2020 to complete his Job Ready Program and become a resident of Australia. He immediately started working at Hot Tamale and very quickly impressed everyone, not only with his natural abilities in the kitchen and leadership which saw him rise to a management role very quickly but with one of the most benevolent, generous, big hearted personalities we had the pleasure of knowing.

 

 

 

 

 

Through his time in Darwin, he made many friends and was very, very loved by all. Knowing, at this time - every parent's worst fear has been realized. The Nepalese community in Darwin have already done an amazing job and raised enough money to be able to transport him home to his parents in Nepal, but during this time the stress - his father would need to continue to work to support his mother & younger brother and pay for the funeral. We want to help in any way we can, which is why we have started this page. We want his family to not have to think about the stress of money in this time of grief.

 

 

 

 

Sameer was a huge part of the Hot Tamale team and was on the way to becoming an immensely talented chef in the Australian hospitality community, so please if you can spare anything to donate - all funds will be sent directly to Sameer’s family to help through this time. Funds will go directly to Sameer's cousin Sabin to organise for his family.
