Bali Street Kids Project Orphanage (YKPA)
YKPA is a non-profit organization, a registered orphanage, and school since 2007.
Street children are those miserable looking kids begging in intersections, and in touristic areas. They come from poor villages, and are sent to the city to beg. These children are traumatized victims of abuse and have learned to live without adequate food, water, and caring from adults. Street kids are among the most disadvantaged in Indonesia.
Shelter, home, orphanage & education
YKPA offers girls and boys, birth to 18 years old, a safe and supportive environment to visit or stay. For the first time, they have a good bed, clean clothing, a good hygiene and nutritious meal. In YKPA, children learn usable skills for thriving as adults such as speaking English, handcrafts, sewing, computer, business techniques, Balinese dance, etc.
Helping the disadvantaged
Community and police referalls brings YKPA to help a variety of disadvantaged children and adults. This includes displaced elderly, homeless children/mother, abandoned children, special teen girl situations, help to neighbourhood children and families, clothing for the poor and many other situations.
The fundraiser
The goal here is to educate more and more street children every day in the most efficient way possible. To do so, we need to build a new school. YPKA already has the land, but now they need the money to build the bamboo house that will welcome dozens of children everyday. Whenever we have raised enough money, the school will be built within 2 months! Every time we visit the neighbourhood, the kids are asking when the school will be ready. They are hungry for knowledge and we need your help to make it happen.
