Balinda Donaldson Funeral & Burial

"Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest."  Matthew 11:28

This account was created to help raise the needed funds for the funeral services and burial of Balinda Donaldson. Sadly, the loss of Balinda was so unexpected, there were no finances set aside in preparation. Please take a few moments to read about Balinda and either be reminded of or learn about the beautiful person she was in her life. We hope you are able to assist and make any kind of donation, regardless of the amount to ensure she can be laid to rest and at peace.

As the family of Balinda Donaldson, we are all extremely devastated and heartbroken about the sudden loss of such an amazing, beautiful, and loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend. Balinda was an extraordinary person, whose inner and outer beauty was exceptional. She made an impact on every single person that she met and was extremely passionate, caring, loving, hilarious, and intelligent. Balinda had a personality and laugh that automatically lit up every room, and was truly unforgettable. Anyone who met Balinda, almost instantly felt her deep love for her family and friends. She was an amazing mother to her two daughters (Madison Battinich and Emma Battinich), and the second oldest of her seven siblings (Richard, Patrick, Joseph, Nathan, Bridget, Adam, & Eve). As a nurse, day care provider, and preschool teacher, Balinda’s selfless nature always loved to take care of others. Whether that was simply feeding them, cleaning up for them, or hugging them; she would help in any and every way possible whether in her personal or professional life.

Her two daughters were always her number one priority. She loved them more than anyone, and it definitely showed. Any chance Balinda got, she was constantly showering her daughters with love and advice, and even thought of her nieces, nephews, and daughters friends as her own. Everyone who had the chance to meet Balinda automatically loved her. She made people feel good about themselves and happy, and she always knew the right thing to say. Her motherly touch was always so heartwarming and sincere.

As a little girl, Balinda’s love for animals was apparent. She was always bringing home animals to her mother, Jessica Wallevand, and of course wanted to keep them all. She was a true “cat lady” and had to have at least one cat in her home, but usually had two or three. Balinda was a natural born Mama that loved to care for all of her siblings.  She never forgot a birthday or missed the chance to shower loved ones with gifts. Jessica’s fondest memories of Balinda include her incredible zest for life, her positivity, how she loved life to the fullest, how deeply she loved her children, her love for God and prayers, and her joy in cooking.

Balinda had an adventurous free spirit that adored being outdoors and exploring everywhere. She had many adventures that took her east to the beaches of North Carolina, the open spaces and canyons of New Mexico and the four corners, Arizona to Lake Havasu, as well as all throughout California. Balinda eventually moved from Chico to Arkansas with her girls to support their father in pursuing his doctorate. While in Arkansas, she worked at a local daycare and preschool and her desire to be outdoors and explore never waned. She would spend her days off exploring the area with her daughters and enjoying the local fruits and vegetables. No matter where Balinda lived, she could be found at the local Farmer’s Markets, looking for the freshest of fruit and veggies and flowers.

Regardless of where Balinda’s adventurous spirit took her, her home and heart always remained in Chico. When she would visit, she could never get enough love, laughter, hugs and silliness with her Mother, siblings, nieces and nephews, and family. Balinda’s laugh was truly contagious; if anyone heard her laughing, they couldn’t help but start laughing themselves, even without knowing why! To hear Balinda laugh, especially with her mother, siblings and daughters, you knew and felt you were in the presences of pure joy and love.

The peace she felt at finally being able to move back to Chico, was apparent and the happiness she and her daughters felt in just being able to be home and close to their family was undeniable. In addition to being one of the happiest people, Balinda was also one of the most forgiving people anyone would know. She continually lived in the moment and refused to hold a grudge against anyone. The friendships Balinda made throughout her life and has maintained over the years were very special to her. She loved her friends as she loved her family; to the fullest, with pure joy and excitement to share her life with them.

There is no way to express in words, how deep the loss of Balinda is felt and what Balinda meant to her family and friends. She is one of those special people in this world that brings optimism, love, laughter, and shines just a bit brighter than everyone else. She was always willing to open her doors and heart to anyone in need, ready to lend a helping hand, prepare and /or share a meal, say some prayers, or just give a hug or hold a hand, to comfort those in need. Even with complete strangers, Balinda would take the time to stop and help if she could. She will be profoundly missed and forever loved in each of our hearts.

With this we are asking for your help in raising the necessary funds for Balinda’s funeral and burial. If you know Balinda, remember all the times you shared with her; remember how much she put herself out there to help everyone. If you don’t know Balinda, think of those unique and special people in your life, which seem to make the world better, just by being in it. Please help and give what you can, no matter the amount, her family thanks you for your support and donation to be able to provide the funeral and burial to put her at rest.

Thank you
