BAKER'S "FULL SEND" RECOVERY FUND

Donation protected
Hello everyone, I am not one to ask for help but lying awake so far away from my son who is injured, I've had time to think about what will come.  Yesterday 3/1/18 my son Zac Baker had a snowboarding accident where he works at Loveland Ski Are in Colorado...I am in Missouri. In pretty brutal fashion he broke his tibia, fibula and displaced his knee cap. Needless to say, I got the first call before ski patrol was to him yet, while I was at work. Hearing your child scream on the phone that a bone is protruding from his leg and not being able to get there is the worst thing in the world for a mom.  The ski patrol at Loveland was amazing, they got him down the mountain, and his buddy Brian stayed with him in the ambulance on the way to Denver. His friend Chelsea Renee Carter stayed with him through the surgery to let me know he was doing ok.  He had his first of a couple of surgeries last night to put an external fix on (four screws in his leg with external hardware (brace) to hold his leg in place.  He will have this external hardware for a few weeks until the swelling goes down and then at least another surgery to internally fix the bones.  I will tell you that the pictures are horrific. His dad is flying out to him and at some point I hope to go as well. Other than his friends who are family to him, he has no family out there with him.  That is the technical story. Now.... here's who my son is. At 19 he told me he wanted to go to Colorado to stay with a buddy from highschool for a few months and see if he liked it out there so I bought him a one way ticket and told him to promise me that he'd never go hungry or never be homeless.  That was three years ago.  My son has worked since he was 14 years old and although life hasn't always been easy, he persists.  He is the kindest, toughest, hardest working kid I know and would give anyone the shirt off his back.  He loves the mountains and when he's not working, he's snowboarding, hiking with his dog, biking and living that mountain life.  He has a rescue pitbull named Roscoe Jenkins who relies on his dad. Zac doesn't have much but what he has, he's worked so hard to keep.  I know he has a long road ahead and I'm not sure how he will pay the rent or medical bills while recovering.  As a mother, I'm worried for him but I know with his positive attitude he'll make it.  So, I'm not too proud to ask for help. It is the one thing in life that I've always struggled with but would do anything for my son.  He's the only one I've got.  Your prayers and anything you may be able to donate is greatly appreciated. Please remember the goal is just that, even if it's not met the donations will still go straight to Zac. Thank you so much!
